Kim Hy Nature Reserve is an important conservation area in northeastern Vietnam, spanning seven communes across Na Ri and Bach Thong districts. Established in 2003, the reserve is home to incredible biological diversity, featuring hundreds of vascular plant species and rare animal populations, including endangered François' langurs and gibbons. Visiting this place offers a deep immersion into wild nature, exploring limestone karst mountain ecosystems, and discovering the culture of local Tay, Dao, and Nung ethnic groups.

What you need to know
Spanning over 15,000 hectares, the reserve's terrain is striking, ranging from flat valleys to rugged limestone mountains reaching up to 938 meters in height. The main water artery is the Ngan Son River, complemented by a network of permanent mountain streams.
Kim Hy's biodiversity includes 65 threatened plant species, such as Tsuga chinensis and Pinus dalatensis. The fauna comprises 386 species, with the reserve being particularly famous for its unique primate populations. Visiting with a local guide is recommended, as the trails require navigational skills and an understanding of the region's ecological specifics.
The dry season is the most favorable time for fully exploring the reserve's trails and moving comfortably through the mountainous terrain.
