History and Architecture
The pagoda was built on the initiative of monk Thích Tâm Giác as a memorial site for heroes who died in the island's prisons. The architectural complex includes traditional Tam Quan gates, a main hall with statues of the Buddha and Bodhisattvas, a bell tower, and a memorial space dedicated to national heroes, including Võ Thị Sáu. The pagoda is recognized as a provincial-level heritage site. The path to the main hall leads up a staircase of 100 to 200 stone steps, where wild monkeys can sometimes be seen.
Visiting in the morning or late afternoon is recommended to avoid the scorching midday sun and make the climb more comfortable.
