The bridge was designed and built by the French company Eiffel between 1897 and 1899. The 403-meter-long steel structure consists of six recognizable semicircular segments. Despite the destructive typhoons of 1904 and the consequences of the 1946 military conflicts, the bridge was restored each time, with new elements added—such as sidewalks and viewing platforms in 1937.

Today, Truong Tien Bridge is a popular spot for walking. Since 2002, it has been equipped with a modern LED lighting system that creates a romantic atmosphere in the evenings, illuminating the steel spans with bright colors reflected in the river.
Best conditions for walking: cool weather and clear skies. In the evening (6:30 PM – 9:00 PM), you can catch the spectacular illumination.
