What you need to know
The park dates back to 1876 when French colonists reorganized the local pier. Since 1958, the park has been named Ninh Kieu in honor of the legendary victory of commander Le Loi.
Main attractions:
- Ho Chi Minh Statue: A 7.2-meter-tall bronze monument set on a pedestal; a symbol illuminated by the sun all day long.
- Panoramic Views: Offers the best views of the Can Tho Bridge — the longest cable-stayed bridge in Southeast Asia — and the bustling river traffic with fishing boats.
- Infrastructure: Spanning 7,000 square meters, the park is equipped with walking paths, cozy benches in the shade of coconut palms, and a nighttime lighting system.
- Surroundings: Nearby are the night market (open from 4:00 PM), the Love Bridge leading to the floating market, and piers for cruise ships featuring traditional music.
The dry season is ideal for walks. In July (monsoon season), visiting before noon or after 5:00 PM is recommended to avoid daytime showers.
