Ba Be National Park is a unique natural complex covering over 10,000 hectares, established in 1992. This place is home to Vietnam's most important freshwater lake, mesmerizing karst caves, and cascading waterfalls. The park is recognized as a special national heritage site and is an important biodiversity hub where rare animal species, such as François's langur, can be found.

What you need to know
The heart of the park is Ba Be Lake, located at an altitude of 145 meters and consisting of three connected parts: Pé Lầm, Pé Lù, and Pé Lèng. Unlike many other lakes, it never dries up, maintaining a depth of up to 35 meters.
Main attractions:
- Caves: Puông with bat colonies, Hua Ma with stalactites, and Tham Phay for kayaking enthusiasts.
- Waterfalls: Dau Dang and Tát Mạ (Silk Waterfall).
- Islands: An Mã, Khu Cum, Po Gia Mai, and the mysterious Widow Island.
The park holds the status of an ASEAN Heritage Park and a wetland of international importance. It harmoniously combines the nature and culture of local ethnic groups (Tay, Hmong, Dao), allowing for a deep immersion into the atmosphere of northern Vietnam.
Dry season with a moderate temperature of around 22°C — the ideal time for trekking, boat trips, and exploring caves.
