History
Nam Nha Pagoda is a place with a deep historical heritage that began as a traditional medicine pharmacy and transformed into an important center of the national liberation struggle during the French colonization period. Visitors are attracted not only by the architecture, which harmoniously combines Buddhist, Confucian, and Taoist elements, but also by the peaceful atmosphere surrounded by a picturesque garden.

What you need to know
The pagoda was founded in 1890 by Nguyen Giac Nguyen. Initially hidden behind a pharmacy sign, it became a meeting headquarters for patriots and the financial center of the "Dong Du" movement, the goal of which was to educate Vietnamese youth in Japan.
Architectural and historical features:
- Religious Synthesis: The central hall is decorated with altars reflecting the harmony of Buddhism, Confucianism, and Taoism.
- Cultural Landscape: The grounds include old brick gates and a garden with conifers and rosewood trees.
- Historical Role: In 1991, the Ministry of Culture and Information of Vietnam officially recognized the pagoda as a national-level historical monument for its invaluable contribution to the fight against the colonial regime.
- Location: The pagoda is located just 200 meters from the Hau River, giving visitors a sense of tranquility and coolness.
