What you need to know
The museum is divided into three key zones: the modern main building, exhibition pavilions, and a sprawling open-air park. The most fascinating part is the park featuring full-scale reconstructions of houses belonging to Vietnam's 54 ethnic groups. You can see how traditional dwellings are structured across different regions of the country. The museum grounds also host traditional craft workshops, water puppet performances, and Quan Ho folk singing. All exhibits are provided with descriptions in Vietnamese, English, and French.
The dry season is the most favorable time: on rainy days, the open-air park becomes slippery and difficult to navigate, and the grounds may flood.
