Thi Nai Lagoon is a unique natural site covering over 5,000 hectares in Binh Dinh province. Separated from the sea by the Phuong Mai Peninsula, this water body is an important ecological reserve and a historically significant location that served as a strategic base during the Tay Son dynasty.

What you need to know
The lagoon boasts incredible biodiversity, housing 76 fish species, dozens of plankton and seagrass species, and over a hundred bird species. Its shores are covered with mangrove forests, which serve as spawning grounds for many valuable fish species.
Tourism infrastructure is actively developing. Be sure to drive across the 2.5 km Thi Nai (Nhon Hoi) Bridge, which offers breathtaking panoramic views of the lagoon. A visit to the "Ghost Tower" (Ba Chua / fortune teller's shrine) on the western shore—where fishermen built a temple dedicated to the water god—is also fascinating. The surrounding area features numerous seafood restaurants serving the freshest catches.
The dry season is the ideal time to visit. Avoid the period from October to December, when rains and strong winds begin, making sightseeing difficult.
