What you need to know
Phuoc Mai Lighthouse is an 8-meter-tall tower. The unique feature of the site is that the light source is located at an altitude of 54 meters above sea level, allowing the beam to be visible at a distance of 18–19 nautical miles.
Built by the French as part of Indochina's strategic navigation network, the lighthouse is still managed by Vietnam's maritime safety authorities. It is important to note that the site is an active navigational facility, so the area may be restricted to casual tourists. Nevertheless, the location is of great interest to lovers of colonial architecture and maritime history.
The dry season provides the most comfortable conditions for exploring the coastal area and walking around the Phuoc Mai Peninsula.
