Ta Cu Mountain is a unique combination of preserved nature and spiritual heritage, located 30 km from Phan Thiet. On the slopes of the mountain range reaching up to 694 meters high hide ancient pagodas and a majestic 49-meter reclining Buddha statue, which has become a symbol of the region and an important pilgrimage site.

What you need to know
The main jewel of the complex is the statue of the reclining Shakyamuni Buddha, created between 1963 and 1966. Its dimensions (49 meters long and 11 meters high) symbolize the key stages of the Buddhist path. Higher up, at an altitude of 563 meters, is the Linh Sơn Trường Thọ pagoda, founded in the 19th century by the monk Tran Huu Duc. The Ta Cu reserve covers 15,000 hectares of semi-evergreen forest, crisscrossed by both hiking trails for pilgrims and a modern cable car.
The dry season is ideal for climbing. From December to February, the summit is especially comfortable — around 20°C, unlike the hot coast. June to September is best avoided due to rains, the risk of encountering forest leeches, and poor visibility.
