Hoang Lien National Park is a majestic nature reserve encompassing the Hoang Lien Son mountain range. It is a place of global significance, recognized as an ASEAN Heritage Park and a Plant Diversity Centre, concentrating unique alpine and tropical landscapes as well as the highest peak of the Indochina Peninsula — Mount Fansipan.

What you need to know
The park was established in 2002 on the basis of a 1986 nature reserve. Spanning nearly 30,000 hectares, it boasts incredible biodiversity: over 3,000 plant species, including rare conifers, and a rich fauna. It is home to about one-third of Vietnam's amphibian species and 347 bird species.
Visitors come to the park to climb Mount Fansipan (3,143 m), trek along routes starting from the Tram Ton station, and experience the culture of the Hmong and Dao ethnic groups. In spring, the park is especially popular during the rhododendron blooming season, when the mountain slopes are painted in incredible colors.
