The Vàm Nhựt Tảo Memorial Complex is an important historical site dedicated to one of the first major victories of the Vietnamese resistance against French colonization. Located on the scenic banks of the Vàm Cỏ Đông River, the complex commemorates the feat of national hero Nguyễn Trung Trực and his comrades.

What you need to know
The 6.1-hectare complex was opened in 2010 and is a national cultural and historical monument. Here, visitors can see:
- The Memorial Temple of Nguyễn Trung Trực, built in traditional Vietnamese style.
- The Museum Exhibition, detailing the battle on December 10, 1861, when the French warship L'Espérance was destroyed.
- A model of the warship L'Espérance, installed in the center of the grounds.
- A sculptural monument and a park area ideal for a peaceful stroll and reflection on the region's history.
The dry season provides comfortable conditions for walking around the outdoor complex grounds.
