Founded in 1966, the museum became the first specialized art institution of national scale. Its collection includes 9 national treasures and covers a wide range of artistic styles:
Ancient Heritage:
Buddha and Bodhisattva sculptures from the Ly and Tran dynasties (11th–15th centuries).
Traditional Crafts:
exquisite ceramics, wood carving, and gilded details.
Painting:
unique folk paintings, lacquer paintings with mother-of-pearl inlay, and masterpieces of socialist realism.
The museum occupies a building in the Indochinese architectural style, creating a special atmosphere for exploring art.
