What you need to know
Sam Mountain is famous for its 200 temples and pagodas. The most significant among them is the Ba Chua Xu Temple, which houses a sacred ancient sandstone statue. Other highlights include the Tây An Pagoda with its rich architectural decoration, the Phước Điền Cave Pagoda (Hang Pagoda), and the tomb of Thoại Ngọc Hầu.
The summit offers breathtaking views of the rice fields, the Vĩnh Tế Canal, and the territory of Cambodia. You can reach the top either via a scenic walking trail or by a cable car that takes you up in 8 minutes.
Dry season with minimal rainfall. Visiting in the morning hours (before 8:30 AM) or after 3:00 PM is recommended to avoid the heat and tour buses.
