What you need to know
Red Canyon is located in Hoa Thang commune, Bac Binh district, about 25 kilometers north of the Mui Ne resort area. The site is situated along the main DT716 highway, yet it is barely noticeable from the road, resembling a small crack in the ground.
The canyon was formed in the bed of a formerly full-flowing river, of which only a small "Fairy Stream" remains. Beneath the layer of red sand lies limestone rock, from which rains carve whimsical relief shapes. The canyon walls are sheer, and along its bottom, you can venture up to 2 kilometers toward the coast. At the end of the path, you reach a palm grove leaning over the water. There is no infrastructure inside the canyon itself, so plan your visit as a brief stop for a photo shoot.
The dry season provides the most comfortable conditions for walking along the canyon floor.
