What you need to know
Construction of the complex began as early as the 15th century. It is an intricate system of caves, monasteries, and shrines scattered among picturesque mountain landscapes. The central point is Chùa Trong temple, located inside Hương Tích Cave at an altitude of 390 meters.
The journey to the shrine is part of the spiritual experience: pilgrims arrive by boat along the Yến River and then climb hundreds of steps. The festival period (from the 6th day of the first lunar month until the 3rd lunar month) is the best time to visit, when the complex comes alive, filled with the aroma of incense, flowers, and a festive atmosphere.
Peak of the pilgrimage and the Perfume Pagoda Festival. This is when the place is at its most atmospheric.
