The Trang An Landscape Complex is a UNESCO World Heritage site combining breathtaking karst formations with a rich cultural and historical past. Spanning over 6,000 hectares, it features 31 lagoons and 48 caves explored via traditional boats. This place served as a defensive stronghold for the ancient capital of Hoa Lu, and active 10th-to-11th-century temples are still preserved here.

What to know
Trang An is Vietnam's first site with a dual UNESCO status (natural and cultural). Geologically, it is a unique humid tropical karst region formed tens of millions of years ago.
What to see:
- Boat routes: Journeys on flat-bottomed boats through cave tunnels ranging from 100 to 400 meters in length.
- Sacred sites: Visits to the Trinh, Tran, and Khong temples, which continue to function as active sanctuaries.
- Archaeological heritage: The territory preserves evidence of continuous human activity over 30,000 years.
After the rainy season, the heat subsides, the sky becomes clear, and the rice fields turn golden. March and April are also favorable.
