The museum occupies a building in a mixed East-West style, opened in 2000. The exhibition is divided into several levels and zones:

  • First floor: dedicated to the nature, geography, religion, and traditional crafts of Dong Thap.

  • Second floor: covers the history of the wars against France and the USA, including over 300 documents and artifacts detailing the struggle for independence.

  • Outdoor area: displays large-scale wartime military equipment, including aircraft and artillery.

  • Complex of structures: the grounds preserve colonial-era buildings such as Dr. Lu's house, the district office (Dinh quận), and torture chambers, recalling the region's dramatic past.
