What to know
The cave was discovered in 1779 by Governor Ngo Thi Si. Inside, visitors will find whimsical stalactites and stalagmites washed by the Ngoc Tuyen stream. This site has been recognized as a national cultural monument since 1962.
Of particular note is the Tam Giao Pagoda, built during the same historical period. It is unique in uniting three traditions: Buddhism, Taoism, and Confucianism. The cave walls preserve poetic verses and a portrait of Ngo Thi Si himself, carved into the stone over two centuries ago.
The dry season with mild weather is ideal for walking and exploring. Winter months can be cold and humid.
