Founded in the early 1st century AD, the temple is a vital monument of Vietnam's spiritual culture. This place is famous nationwide because it houses the rarest mummified statues of Zen masters, recognized as state national treasures.

What you need to know
Dau Pagoda was built between 200 and 210 AD and is historically connected to the ancient center of Luy Lau. In 1964, the complex received the status of a Class A historical and artistic monument.
What to see:
- Mummified Statues: The main relics of the temple. Two statues of prominent Zen masters preserved in mummified form have no analogues among other pagodas in Vietnam.
- Architecture: Despite being repeatedly restored, the building retains an atmosphere of authenticity. The pagoda stands on a high hill, surrounded by the waters of the Nhue River and lush vegetation, making the landscape incredibly serene.
The dry season is ideal for trips out of town. It is recommended to avoid the rainy season (May–September), when access roads may be difficult.
