Ba Vang Pagoda is a majestic religious complex with a centuries-old history, located in Quang Ninh province. Founded back in the 13th century, the pagoda is an important center of the Truc Lam Yen Tu Zen school. Today, this place attracts both pilgrims and travelers with its unique architecture, massive statues, and the tranquility of the pine forest.

What you need to know
The pagoda was founded in the 13th century during the Tran dynasty, and its architectural ensemble has undergone numerous restorations, the latest of which was completed in 2014. The main sanctuary — Dai Hung Bao Dien — is recognized as the largest in a mountain pagoda in Indochina, covering an area of about 4,000 sq. m. Inside, visitors can see impressive murals depicting the life of Shakyamuni Buddha, as well as the country's largest wooden drum. The 22-hectare complex includes majestic gates, a library, a bell tower, and avenues of arhat statues.
The dry season with moderate temperatures is ideal for walking around the grounds and exploring open-air shrines.
