About

What you need to know

According to legend, Ba Chua Kho lived during the Ly dynasty (1010-1225) and played a key role in the country's defense by helping the king guard the state granaries on Mount Kho during the war against the Song invaders in 1076-1077. In recognition of her service, a temple complex was erected, which today includes a pagoda and a communal house (đình). The architectural style of the temple is typical of the 19th century with rich wood carvings depicting dragons, tigers, and clouds. A notable feature of the complex is the ancient arched tunnel behind the temple, which is believed to have been used as a military outpost.
