About the place

What you need to know

The history of the temple began during the Lê dynasty. After numerous relocations and wars, including significant destruction in the mid-20th century, the complex was carefully restored in 2001. Today, visitors can see the reconstructed structures: the Tam Quan main entrance, the Front and Back sanctuaries, as well as pathways lined with steles.

The main treasures of the temple are 15 stone steles, 12 of which are officially recognized as national treasures of Vietnam. These monuments preserve the names of 677 doctors of science and prominent figures whose contributions to the country's sovereignty are invaluable. Visiting this place offers a deep dive into the intellectual history of the Kinh Bắc region.
