About

What you need to know

The complex was opened in 1994 to commemorate Hoang Van Thu (1909–1944), an influential party leader and revolutionary poet. In 2008, the architectural ensemble was expanded with an impressive 8-meter stone statue made from Thanh Hoa province stone.

What to see:

  • Memorial stela featuring the hero's autobiography and his poem "Nhắn bạn" (Message to a Friend).
  • Sculptural group: a majestic statue of Hoang Van Thu and symbolic figures of eagles.
  • Historical artifacts: nearby, on the grounds of the Air Force military hospital, original execution bastions, elements of the execution mechanism, and the underground "Swallow" cell (Hầm Con Én) where prisoners were held before execution have been preserved.
  • Landscaped park: a well-maintained green area creating a contemplative atmosphere.
