What you need to know
Construction of the square was completed on May 19, 2003, for the 113th anniversary of Ho Chi Minh's birth. The central attraction of the complex is an impressive 18-meter-tall granite and copper monument, behind which lies an artificial mountain decorated with 1,600 species of plants from all corners of Vietnam.
The complex serves both a ceremonial function as a venue for state holidays and the role of a public space. In the evening, the area is well-lit, making it a popular relaxation spot for locals and tourists alike.
The dry season is the most favorable time with temperatures of 20–30°C. During this period, it is comfortable to explore the monument and walk around the landscaped areas of the square.
