What you need to know
The name "Pu Luong" means "the highest peak in the village" in the Thai language. The reserve, covering over 17,000 hectares, is famous for its rich biodiversity: it is home to rare animal species, including clouded leopards and Asian black bears.
Tourists are invited to trek to the summit, which takes 5-6 hours along winding trails. The peak offers panoramic views of the terraced valleys. It is also worth visiting Hieu Waterfall, a unique natural phenomenon where the stream splits into two branches, and the high-altitude villages of Son-Ba-Muoi at an altitude of 1,200 meters.
The most favorable period with temperatures ranging from 15°C to 30°C. October and April are especially good for viewing the rice terraces.
