Ta Xua is a majestic mountain peak in Bac Yen district (Son La province), located on the border with Yen Bai province. Ranking among the top 10 highest peaks in Vietnam at 2,865 meters, it attracts pristine nature lovers, photographers, and adventurers. The area is known for its unique cloud formations, pristine "mossy" forests, and the legendary "Dinosaur Backbone."

What you need to know
Ta Xua is not only a peak, but an entire ecosystem. The Hoang Lien Son mountain range creates a unique landscape here:
Dinosaur Backbone (Song Khung Long):
A narrow, 1.5 km path at an altitude of 2,120 meters above deep valleys. An ideal spot for observing the "sea of clouds."
Pristine forest:
Spanning 17,650 hectares, known as the "moss kingdom" due to abundant vegetation and humid climate.
Shan Tuyet tea:
Centuries-old trees growing at an altitude of over 1,500 meters, producing some of the best tea in Vietnam with unique medicinal properties.
Turtle Head rock and Camel rock:
Iconic viewpoints for panoramic photographs.
It is important to note that the roads to the peak are narrow, winding, and require driving skills.
Peak cloud-watching season: low temperatures and high humidity create dense cloud formations that often persist until 10:00 AM.
