What you need to know
For centuries, the mountains have been a power place for followers of local beliefs and Mahayana Buddhists. Thuy Son is the only mountain open to visitors. Key highlights include Huyen Khong Cave, which served as a hospital during the war; Am Phu Cave ("Hell Cave"); ancient pagodas; and viewpoints overlooking Non Nuoc Beach. At the foot of the mountains lies the Non Nuoc stone carving village, which has existed since the 17th century.
Dry season with moderate temperatures, ideal for exploring caves and catching sunbeams in Huyen Khong.
