Hội Khánh Temple is a place where the deep history of Vietnamese Buddhism intertwines with modern records. Founded in 1741, the temple has journeyed from a small shrine on a hill to a national cultural and historical relic. It is well worth visiting for its peaceful atmosphere, ancient architecture, and the famous 52-meter reclining Buddha, recognized as the longest in Asia.

What you need to know
Hội Khánh Temple was founded in 1741 by the monk Đại Ngạn. After being destroyed in 1861, it was restored in 1868 at its current location at the foot of a hill. The temple is not only a religious center but also an important historical site: in the 1920s, anti-colonial activists, including Nguyễn Sinh Sắc (the father of Ho Chi Minh), held meetings here.
The temple's architecture represents the traditional Vietnamese style. Its four halls house gilded Buddha statues and 18 arhats carved by local artisans from Thủ Dầu Một in the 19th century. Century-old eucalyptus trees are preserved within the complex.
The main modern attraction is the pagoda built in 2008. On its roof stands a majestic statue of the Buddha entering nirvana (52 meters long, 12 meters high, weighing 600 tons), registered by the Asia Book of Records.
