Phu An Bamboo Village is an island of tranquility just 35-40 km from bustling Ho Chi Minh City. Founded in 1999, this reserve has become home to the country's largest bamboo collection—hosting around 1,500 clumps, comprising 90% of all bamboo species found in Vietnam. It is the perfect place for those seeking a nature escape away from the hustle and bustle and wanting to connect with the region's environmental initiatives.

History and Purpose
The reserve was created as an environmental restoration project for a region heavily damaged during the war. Today, it is not only a natural park but also an important research center. The territory is divided into museum and research zones, where landscapes for various bamboo species—from mountain to coastal and wetland varieties—have been specially recreated.
What to See
Stroll along cozy paths winding through dense bamboo groves that form natural shady canopies. Be sure to visit the bamboo museum and botanical conservatory, which feature over 350 specimens. Along the 15-kilometer walking trail, you can see traditional houses and bamboo crafts, which have also served as sets for movie productions.
The summer months (July) are characterized by high humidity and heat. Autumn and winter are the most comfortable months for long walks through the reserve.
