Tri An Reservoir is a large-scale artificial body of water created in 1987 as a result of the construction of a hydroelectric dam on the Dong Nai River. Being a significant engineering facility, today it has turned into a vital natural hub that is part of the Dong Nai Biosphere Reserve. It is an ideal place for those who seek solitude in nature, away from the urban noise of Saigon.

The reservoir covers an area of 323 sq. km and includes 76 islands, some of which are inhabited. The landscape combines calm water surfaces, low hills, and rubber plantations.
The biodiversity of the region is of particular value: the northern part of the lake borders Cat Tien National Park. Over 1,500 species of plants and 2,000 species of animals have been recorded here, many of which are under protection. For tourists, the areas of Dao O (Đảo Ó) and Dong Truong (Đồng Trường) are of interest, offering the opportunity to experience the lake's nature in a quiet setting.
The dry season is the most favorable: clear skies and lower humidity create the best conditions for trips to the islands and walks along the shoreline. The low water level in these months provides easy access to many coastal areas.
