About

What you need to know

History and Status

Construction began in 1700 under the guidance of official Nguyen Thac Luong. In November 2024, the site was granted the status of a Special National Historical Relic. It is a rare example of ancient craftsmanship that has survived the test of centuries.

Architecture and Decor

The building is designed in a stilt house style, with the wooden floor elevated by 0.7 m to protect against moisture. The structure rests on 84 massive ironwood columns. Of particular value are more than 500 unique carved images of dragons, as well as scenes featuring phoenixes, elephants, and the Eight Immortals adorning the 18th-century beams and brackets.

Religious Significance

The house is dedicated to the worship of earth, water, and agricultural deities, as well as the memory of the ancestors who restored the village in the 15th century. It also carefully preserves the ancestral tablets of the eight kings of the Ly dynasty, whose history is inextricably linked to this place—the birthplace of the dynasty's founder, Ly Cong Tuan.
