Phật Tích Temple, which translates to "Temple of Buddhist Relics," is a place with a deep history dating back to the 11th century. Located on the slope of Phật Tích Mountain, the complex combines ancient artifacts from the Lý dynasty with modern monumental structures, offering panoramic views of the Red River Delta.

What you need to know
The temple complex began to take shape between the 7th and 10th centuries, becoming a significant religious center in 1057 under King Lý Thánh Tông. Despite destruction in the mid-20th century, the temple was carefully restored in the early 2010s and today holds the status of a special national monument.
What to see:
- Stone statue of Amitabha Buddha (10th–11th centuries) — the central relic, carved from a single block of green stone.
- Ten stone animals (lions, elephants, rhinoceroses, buffaloes, horses) — unique examples of 11th-century landscape sculpture.
- Modern Buddha statue standing 27 meters tall, erected at the peak of the mountain in 2011.
- Monks' mausoleums from the 17th to 20th centuries, scattered across the mountain slopes.
