Phúc Quang Temple is a unique architectural and artistic monument founded in the spring of 1734. Located in Bắc Giang province, this site attracts both lovers of ancient architecture and seekers of mystical legends. Despite its nearly 300-year history, the pagoda has preserved its original large bell and active pilgrimage spirit, remaining the only temple in the region where rituals take place without a permanent monastic order.

What you need to know
The temple was built by royal decree with the participation of the monk Triệu Chiêm. The architectural design follows the "inner palace, outer world" style, built entirely of wood, bearing a strong imprint of the Nguyễn dynasty. The complex includes a 7-bay front hall, a main hall housing statues of the Northern Sect, and a unique two-level rear hall with access to the bell tower.
Special attention should be paid to the historical artifacts: it retains the original bell from the time of its founding and a collection of 90 Buddhist statues. In 1989, the temple was designated a national monument. Locals believe in its spiritual power, as it miraculously escaped destruction during intense bombing of the region in wartime years. The temple's main mystery is the absence of a monastic community for centuries, which tradition attributes to an ancient curse.
