What you need to know
History and Characteristics The statue was built by the local Catholic community. Construction began in 1974 and was completed in 1994. The monument stands 136 meters above sea level on Mount Nho (Tao Phung), and the statue's arm span reaches 18.4 meters. In 2012, it was recognized as the largest statue of Jesus in Asia.
What to See • Base: decorated with bas-reliefs depicting biblical scenes. • Viewing Platforms: inside the statue, there is a spiral staircase of 133 steps leading to platforms at shoulder level, accommodating up to 6 people. • Military Heritage: three late-19th-century French artillery guns are preserved nearby.
