What you need to know
The lake's history began in 1885 when the French created a canal on the site of the Liem Khe stream. The reservoir acquired its modern appearance in 1985 after the construction of the Tam Ky dam, and large-scale landscaping of the banks was carried out in 1999.
Today, the lake is a hub of attraction for both locals and tourists. Paved pathways run along the perimeter, flamboyant trees provide shade, and evening lighting turns the promenade into one of the city's most picturesque locations.
Dry season with comfortable, cool weather, which is ideal for long walks around the lake.
