The Hai Phong Museum is a unique cultural institution located in the historic building of the Franco-Chinese Bank (built in 1918–1919). This place allows visitors to trace the city's path of development, from prehistoric times to the events that changed the fate of the entire country. The museum's collection features over 20,000 valuable artifacts and documents, many of which were donated by local residents themselves as part of the historical "One Person, One Artifact" campaign.

History
Founded on December 20, 1959, the museum became the first local research center in Vietnam. The museum building is an outstanding example of early 20th-century Gothic architecture, which has miraculously preserved its original layout and the elegance of its facades.
What to see
The collection is distributed across 16 thematic halls with a total area of 1,300 sq. m:
- Archaeology: findings from the Cai Beo and Trang Kenh excavations, dating back up to 7,000 years.
- History: exhibitions on the city's development from the 1st to the 19th centuries and materials on the national resistance.
- Daily Life and Culture: traditional costumes, ceramics, and bronze drum collections reflecting the traditions of the region's ethnic groups.
- Interactive: some of the halls are equipped with modern digital technologies for full immersion into the historical context.
