History of the Battle

On the night of January 25–26, 1960, revolutionary forces carried out an operation to capture the Tua Hai base. After a three-hour battle, the strategic facility was brought under control, serving as a catalyst for the anti-government uprising in the south of the country.

What to See

The monumental complex includes:

  • Memorial stele and sculptural composition: figures of two armed revolutionaries against the backdrop of a stone slab with golden characters.
  • Artistic relief: a vivid depiction of scenes from the 1960 battle.
  • Museum exhibition: includes a tactical map with LED indicators, weapons displays, military documents, and a model of the base (museum access is available by prior arrangement with the administration).

The status of a national historical heritage site was officially established by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Information of Vietnam in 1993.
