The Hai Phong International Exhibition Center, known locally as the "Kite House" (Nhà cánh diều), is a unique architectural structure with an unusual roof shape. Despite challenges with its modern utilization, the building remains a notable example of infrastructure planning from the early 2000s.

What you need to know
The center was opened in May 2004 in the Duong Kinh district (at the 10th kilometer of Phạm Văn Đồng street). The main building is elliptical in shape with impressive dimensions: 120 meters long, 64 meters wide, and up to 48 meters high at its peak.
Investment in the project amounted to 100 billion Vietnamese dong. The interior space is designed to accommodate 250–300 exhibition pavilions across two floors. However, today the facility does not function for its intended purpose: in recent years, the premises have been used for storing raw materials, and the building itself was severely damaged by Typhoon No. 3 in October 2024. The city administration is considering plans to reorganize it into a residential area.
