The Po Klong Garai complex is one of the best-preserved Cham religious structures in Vietnam. Built in the late 13th century in honor of the legendary king, these red brick towers are not merely a museum exhibit, but a living place of power where the Cham community still performs its rituals.

What you need to know
The tower ensemble, located on Trau Hill, includes three key structures: the main tower (kalan), the eastern gate tower, and the southern fire tower.
Inside the main tower lies the sacred linga-yoni symbol and an ancient statue of Nandi. Visitors can also explore a small exhibition hall featuring materials about the Kate Festival and samples of traditional textiles. The surrounding landscape features a semi-arid nature: cacti, dry grass, and grazing goats create a unique atmosphere unlike other regions of Vietnam.
The dry season is ideal for a visit. It is recommended to arrive early in the morning (before 9:00 AM) or closer to evening, as there is virtually no shade at the top of the hill.
