Mam Xoi is located in La Pan Tan commune and is a symbol of the Mu Cang Chai region. Situated at an altitude of 1,100 meters, this viewpoint became famous for the unique spiral shape of its rice terraces, carved out by the hard work of the Hmong people. It is a must-visit location for capturing classic shots of Vietnamese highland landscapes.

What you need to know
Mam Xoi ("sticky rice tray") got its name because of the perfect rounded shape of the terraces surrounding the central hill. Unlike other fields in the region which have an elongated shape, here the terraces form a compact visual focus. There are three platform levels on the slope: the middle one for panoramas, the upper one for detailed shots, and the lower one for perspective at the base.
The peak season is September and early October, when the rice ripens and colors the landscape in gold. In March, the fields fill with water, creating a mirror effect, and in summer (June–August), they delight the eye with lush greenery.
The golden harvest season is the best time for photography thanks to rich colors and perfect lighting.
