About the place

What you need to know

History and Construction

Construction of the cathedral took place from 1913 to 1918 based on the design of the French priest Jean-Baptiste Guerlach. The uniqueness of the building is that all load-bearing elements—columns, beams, and floors—are held together solely through masterful mortise and tenon joints and iron bolts. The walls and ceilings are plastered with a mixture of earth and straw, giving the interior a special historical charm.

Architecture

The cathedral is an exquisite synthesis of the Romanesque style and the architectural forms of the Ba Na people's "long houses" (rong houses). Characterized by steep pitched roofs, a 25-meter bell tower, and arched doorways, it creates an unforgettable appearance. The total interior space exceeds 1,200 m².

Important Tips

The cathedral is an active place of worship. Services are held on Sundays until 9:00 AM, so it is best not to be inside during this time. When visiting, please observe silence, mute your devices, and refrain from taking photos in the main altar area without prior permission.
