Our Lady of Mang Den Shrine is a unique site with a dramatic history of restoration, located in a cool mountainous region. Pilgrims and tourists come here to see the statue of the Virgin Mary, which is known for its unusual iconography combining features of Our Lady of Fatima and the indigenous people of the Central Highlands.

What to know
Erected in 1971, the statue survived the war and was forgotten for decades until it was accidentally discovered by road construction workers building Highway 24 in 2004. Following its restoration in 2007, it became the center of pilgrimage for the Diocese of Kon Tum.
The monument gained special fame because the statue lacks hands. Despite repeated restoration attempts, the hands kept breaking off, which believers interpret as a divine symbol of protection for the disabled, leprosy patients, and those with HIV/AIDS. Located at an altitude of 1,200 meters above sea level and surrounded by pine forests and mountains, the statue is an important stop on any regional tour.
Spring and autumn offer the most comfortable weather with good visibility and scenic cloudy landscapes. December 9 is the annual pilgrimage day.
