In the famous mountain town of Sapa, a funicular has been launched, taking passengers directly from the city center to the transfer point for the next cable car, which leads straight to the peak of Mount Fansipan.

The project was developed by Sun Group. Together with the city administration, it was decided to locate the starting point of the funicular near the MGallery hotel. The length of the cable car is 2 kilometers, and along the way it passes through 2 tunnels, 4 viaducts, and settlements of local ethnic groups. The system is designed to transport 2,000 people per hour. It is worth noting that traveling by car to the second cable car would take at least 15 minutes longer due to the difficulty of the road.

The cable car maintenance team, in particular operator Nguyen Hung Phuc, states that in the event of a power outage, it takes only 3 minutes to switch to the backup power source.

The funicular train consists of 2 cabins, designed by the Swiss company Garaventa. The cabins feature a special design reminiscent of 20th-century European trains. A single departure allows the funicular to transport 200 people. The departure station itself was designed by the renowned American architect Bill Bensley.

At the transfer point from one cable car to another, there are local attractions such as the Amitabha Buddha statue, the Kim Son Bao Than Temple (which houses Buddha statues and eighteen 2.5-meter-tall bronze Arhat statues), as well as the Bich Van Pagoda and the statue of the Goddess of Mercy and Compassion.
