What you need to know
The square was built between 2007 and 2012 and is currently recognized as a provincial-level cultural and historical monument. The main focal point is the 10.8-meter statue of Ho Chi Minh, crafted from copper using a technology similar to the one used for the Statue of Liberty.
The vast area, accommodating up to 50,000 people, features many iconic landmarks:
- Stone Pillar: a complex of 54 basalt blocks representing the ethnic groups of Vietnam.
- Largest Relief: 600 m² of carved stone depicting the feats and life of the highland peoples.
- Gong Set: a record-breaking collection of traditional instruments from the region.
- Attractions: A memorial plaque with Ho Chi Minh's letter, the Ho Chi Minh Temple, and an artificial mountain — a replica of Ham Long.
The dry season is ideal for walking around the open square and attending open-air cultural events.
