Tam Bao Pagoda is one of the most important spiritual landmarks in Ha Tien. Founded by Mac Cuu for his mother, the pagoda combines deep history, carefully preserved architecture, and a peaceful atmosphere. Today, it is an active center of Buddhist life in Kien Giang province and a national historical site.

What you need to know
The pagoda was built in 1730 by Mac Cuu and acquired its current appearance after major restorations in 1917 and 1930. Locals often call it "Ong Dong Pagoda" in honor of monk Tri Thien, who dedicated much effort to preserving the temple.
What to see:
- Ancient relics: A bronze statue of Amitabha Buddha around 300 years old and a bell donated by Mac Cuu.
- Architectural details: Gold-plated carved wooden panels featuring exquisite "Twin Dragons" and "Eight Immortals" motifs.
- Central courtyard: A large statue of the Goddess of Mercy (Quan Thế Âm Bồ Tát) standing on a lotus.
- Shrines: The tomb of the city founder Mac Cuu's mother is located here.
Since 1974, the pagoda has served as a nunnery and a major educational center hosting social and spiritual programs for the youth.
