Hang Kenh Communal House (Nhan Tho) is an outstanding monument of Vietnamese architecture, founded in 1719. The site is famous for its intricate ironwood carvings featuring over 300 depictions of dragons, and it serves as an active cultural space honoring the national hero Ngo Quyen.

What you need to know
The complex, covering about 6,000–7,000 m², is a masterpiece of the Later Le dynasty era. Notably, visitors can examine the carved wooden columns and panels up close—unlike many other museums, there are no strict barriers here.
Main highlights:
- "Bong hinh" carving technique: a rare carving method that makes the dragons look three-dimensional and lifelike.
- Ngo Quyen Sanctuary: a place of worship for the great military leader who liberated Vietnam in 938.
- Landscape: a crescent-shaped pond and ceremonial gates creating an atmosphere of harmony with nature according to feng shui principles.
- Festivals: from the 16th to the 18th day of the second lunar month, vibrant Cheo, Tuong theater performances, and water puppet shows take place here.
