What you need to know

The sanctuary was officially recognized as a protected area in 1986. It boasts tremendous biodiversity: in addition to 40,000–60,000 birds, the ecosystem supports 150 animal species and 109 plant species. The forest consists of mangroves, bamboo, and palms.

Tips for your visit:

  • Time: Arrive at dawn (around 6:00 AM) or before sunset (5:30 PM–6:00 PM), as birds fly out to forage during the day.
  • Equipment: Be sure to bring binoculars or a telephoto lens, as nests are located high up in the trees.
  • Transport: You can rent an electric car on-site (around 250,000 VND) to comfortably explore the perimeter and observation towers.
