What you need to know
The lake originated in 1919 after the construction of a dam and was originally called Grand Lac (Big Lake) by the French. In 1953, it received its modern name in honor of the Vietnamese poet Hồ Xuân Hương. The reservoir covers an area of about 25 hectares, has a perimeter of 6 kilometers, and is crescent-shaped.
This is an ideal place for morning jogs or evening walks when the air is especially cool. All infrastructure is concentrated around the lake: from boat and bicycle rentals to authentic restaurants and cafes overlooking the water.
At this time, the air is as cool as possible, and the lake looks most picturesque.
