The Uncle Ho Statue is a landmark in District 1 of Ho Chi Minh City, located at the northern end of the popular Nguyen Hue pedestrian street. The bronze sculpture by Diep Minh Chau depicts Ho Chi Minh in a warm gesture of interaction with a child, embodying the continuity of generations and the leader's closeness to the people.

What you need to know
The statue is mounted on a granite pedestal and serves as the focal point of the pedestrian zone. Behind the monument is the majestic Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee building (formerly the Hôtel de Ville city hall, 1909), a fine example of French colonial architecture.
The area around the monument includes a cozy square. Nguyen Hue pedestrian street stretches for 670 meters toward the Saigon River and is a favorite spot for locals for evening walks. On holidays, especially during Tết (Lunar New Year), flower markets and festive events are held here.
The best time to visit is early morning, when the square is free of crowds and the light perfectly illuminates the bronze monument.
